Dominion Honors Cleveland Employee as a Volunteer Of The Year

April 29, 2003

Representing the best in volunteerism and commitment to his community, Cleveland employee Sam Mercurio will be honored as one of Dominion's Volunteers of the Year for 2002.

Mercurio will be honored at Dominion's annual volunteer recognition ceremony today in Cleveland.

Mercurio, a Dominion East Ohio gas distribution operations manager, has been involved over the last several years in a variety of volunteer community activities that have had a positive and lasting impact in the communities. Most notably, Mercurio was active with Brilla House in Mill Creek Falls, and assisted in the coordination of Dominion volunteers to help the Slavic Village Development renovate its historical site. He also assisted with an outdoor project at the Goodrich-Gannett Center.

Mercurio says he enjoys helping others in need, and relishes working with others and developing comradery and teamwork among the employees.

For being selected a "Volunteer of the Year," Mercurio's charity of choice, Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, will receive a $1,000 donation from the Dominion Foundation.
