Dominion E&P Names Hardesty Vice President, Northeast Gas Basins

HOUSTON - Dominion Exploration & Production, a subsidiary of Dominion (NYSE:D) announced today that Benjamin A. Hardesty was named vice president and general manager - Northeast Gas Basins, effective Nov. 1, 2003.

Hardesty, currently general manager for the Northeast Gas Basins, will continue to be responsible for Dominion E&P's oil and gas exploration and production activities in the Northeast Gas Basins, reporting to Paul R. Baker, senior vice president and general manager of the Eastern business unit.

Hardesty is a West Virginia native, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University in 1972 and a Master of Science degree from George Washington University in 1976. He served as U.S. Army officer and then worked as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill before returning to West Virginia. Hardesty has been involved with the oil and gas industry in Appalachia since 1978 and joined Dominion in 1995 with the acquisition of Stonewall Gas, of which he was the president.

Hardesty is a past president of both the Independent Oil & Gas Association of West Virginia and the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association, and is currently on the board of directors for both organizations. He is also a trustee of The Nature Conservancy of West Virginia and a director with the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
