RICHMOND, Va. - Dominion (NYSE: D) will acquire a 138-megawatt power station near Clarksville in Mecklenburg County.
Dominion will purchase the coal-fired power station from United American Energy Holdings Corp. of New Jersey. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval, including, but not limited to, the Virginia State Corporation Commission and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, as well as approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act.
All of the facility’s generation is currently sold to Dominion Virginia Power, Dominion’s electric utility subsidiary, under a 25-year power purchase contract. Under Dominion’s ownership, the facility will continue to serve Dominion electric customers in Virginia and North Carolina.
