SALEM, Mass. – A release of steam Tuesday morning at Unit 3 at Dominion’s Salem Harbor Power Station injured three employees.

The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. EST.  Salem fire and rescue squads responded to the station. All personnel have been accounted for by the station.

The three injured employees were transported to area hospitals.  The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.  Identities of the employees will not be released until their families have been notified.

Dominion is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.  Local and federal safety officials are also at the station.

Salem Harbor is a four-unit power station generating 754 megawatts.  The three coal-fired units, Units 1, 2 and 3, were operating at the time of the incident.  Units 1 and 2 continue to operate safely.  The oil-fired Unit 4 was not operating.
