Enhanced Website Brings New Look, Improved Navigation to Dominion Online Visitors

- Enhanced website launches today
- Recognizes information needs of different audiences
- Visitors will enjoy easier access to information

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dominion's website, dom.com, has a new look and improved navigation that will make it easier for visitors to find information and conduct business with Dominion online. Dominion wants site visitors to recognize the new look and feel as Dominion's authentic site. The improved dom.com launches today.

The site will "remember" what visitors were seeking during their last visit and direct them to that information during future visits instead of making them navigate through the main corporate page each time. This will make it easier and more efficient to find information on the website.

"Our primary goal was to build a more user-friendly and easier-to-navigate site because we know these are features that customers and other stakeholders value and appreciate," said Lynn Chaffin, director of Digital Communications. "The new design allows visitors to quickly find the information they are looking for with fewer clicks."

Residential and business customers, job seekers, investors and suppliers will benefit from the website improvements. Custom landing pages will give each type of visitor easy access to the content they seek out most often.

"These improvements recognize and benefit the wide range of visitors to our web content," said Chaffin. "We will continue to enhance the site to make it easier for visitors to find information and conduct business with us on a wide variety of devices ranging from laptops to smart phones."

When customers in NC, OH, VA, and WV log on to dom.com after the enhanced site is live, they will be able to select the state in which they live. The website navigation will then reflect individualized programs, news and information for that state. It will be easier than ever for Dominion gas and electric customers to:

  • view their bill
  • make payments and manage electric service
  • report and check outages
  • review safety information and programs
  • research conservation programs

Online Account Management
Customers who previously created an online account on dom.com through Manage Your Account will be able to use their existing user name and password. Customers who haven't signed up for an account are welcome to create one. Account holders are able to securely perform online transactions at their convenience such as viewing, paying and printing bills, signing up for eBill and starting, stopping or transferring service.

Each month more than 2.6 million visitors log on to dom.com and 1.2 million customers manage their Dominion account using the website.
