CLEVELAND, Dec. 1, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Anne E. Bomar has been named senior vice president and general manager of Dominion East Ohio, effective December 1. In that capacity, she will direct all aspects of Dominion's Ohio natural gas distribution company, including production, gathering, storage, distribution and transmission assets. Bomar succeeds Bruce C. Klink, who is retiring from Dominion East Ohio after 36 years, including the last two as company president.

Bomar joined Consolidated Natural Gas Company (CNG) in 1985, and has held positions in corporate planning, gas procurement, rates and legal.

"Under Bruce Klink's leadership, Dominion East Ohio has undergone much change in recent years, as we have built a safe, modern, innovative natural gas utility and expanded on a foundation of reliable, quality service for 1.2 million customers," said Gary Sypolt, CEO of Dominion Energy, the company's natural gas unit. "Anne Bomar is the right leader to continue these ongoing initiatives, including improving our pipeline infrastructure, replacing outdated facilities and adding new technologies. We will continue to look for ways to keep our natural gas services reliable and efficient."

Va., Bomar earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Cornell University and a law degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, where she was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif. She is a member of the Energy Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar, and until recently, she served on the board of directors of the North American Energy Standards Board. In November, Bomar was elected to the board of directors of the Greater Cleveland Chapter of the American Red Cross.
