RICHMOND, Va. – Dominion Virginia Power customers who sign up for an electronic billing and payment program at www.dom.com not only will save themselves time and money, they also will help teach students hands-on lessons about environmental stewardship.
Customers now can select from two paperless billing programs that save time and eliminate the expense of postage stamps and paper checks:
For each new enrollment in April, the companies that operate the two paperless billing programs will donate $1 to Dominion’s Project Plant It! program, a community effort to educate children, plant trees and improve the environment.
"This partnership benefits Dominion customers, Virginia students and the environment by providing a convenient, economic method for paying bills that does not require paper, postage or the harvesting of trees," said Gianna C. Clark, vice president of customer service operations for Dominion.
Project Plant It! is a partnership between Dominion, the Arbor Day Foundation and selected local school districts in areas where the company does business. Nearly 34,000 elementary school students this year in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Virginia will learn about the value of trees to the ecosystem and how to recognize and care for them. Each student participating in the program receives a tree seedling to plant on Arbor Day on Friday, April 24. For more information, visit www.ProjectPlantIt.com.
The eBills program is offered by Dominion and Fiserv Inc. For more information about Fiserv, visit www.fiserv.com. BillMail is offered by Transactis Inc. For more information about Transactis, visit www.transactis.com.
