Together these electronics are capable of transmitting information at 800 gigabits per second over a single strand of fiber. The combination of electronics and the Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) ring technology, provide customers with a higher level of network security and unsurpassed reliability in the event a network failure should occur.
The growing Dominion Telecom network is controlled by a centralized, state-of-the-art Operations Center, a 24 X 7 facility that offers prompt, responsive monitoring, maintenance and customer support.
