Dominion Sells Louisiana Storage Project

RICHMOND, Va. – Dominion (NYSE: D) announced Wednesday the sale of 150 acres containing three salt caverns in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The natural gas storage project was sold to a partnership consisting of Sempra Pipelines & Storage, a unit of Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE), and ProLiance Transportation and Storage, LLC, the asset development and ownership affiliate of ProLiance Energy, LLC.

Dominion is one of the nation’s largest operators of underground natural gas storage facilities, with nearly all of that storage in the Northeast and Midwest market areas. Other terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers of energy, with a portfolio of about 28,000 megawatts of generation, about 6.3 trillion cubic feet equivalent of proved natural gas reserves and 7,800 miles of natural gas transmission pipeline. Dominion also operates one of the nation's largest underground natural gas storage systems with about 950 billion cubic feet of storage capacity and serves retail energy customers in ten states.
