When In Doubt, Look For Dominion ID Card

October 4 , 2006

CLEVELAND, Ohio – From time to time, Dominion East Ohio receives reports of people claiming to be employees who actually do not work for the company. To protect themselves from impostors, customers should always ask to see the employee’s identification card.

All gas company employees have a photo identification card. If customers are uncertain whether someone claiming to be a Dominion employee actually works for the company, they can just request to see the employee's photo identification card for verification.  Dominion East Ohio employees will be happy to show their company photo ID cards to customers.

Customers can also look for:

  • A white Dominion East Ohio vehicle bearing the Dominion name and logo.
  • A Dominion uniform of navy-blue pants; blue shirt; and navy-blue caps and jackets with company emblems.  Some company employees wearing civilian clothes, such as construction and maintenance crews and supervisors, also may call on customers.

If customers have any further doubt, they should contact Dominion’s customer service center at 1-800-362-7557. A customer service center representative can verify if one of the company’s employees is scheduled to work on natural gas service at your home or business.

Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers of energy, with an energy portfolio of about 28,000 megawatts of generation. Dominion also serves retail energy customers in 11 states.  For more information about Dominion, visit the company's Web site at www.dom.com.
