CLEVELAND, Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dominion East Ohio reminds customers on the eve of heating season that annual inspections by qualified, reputable contractors will help ensure year-round safety, comfort and efficiency from furnaces, water heaters and other natural gas appliances.
Besides helping customers receive maximum value for their energy dollars, an annual appliance inspection may prevent any potential carbon monoxide problems. Carbon monoxide (CO) detectors provide a second line of defense, but they should not be used as a substitute for an annual furnace inspection. Combined with an annual inspection, CO detectors placed in each bedroom can offer additional peace of mind.
Along with that annual inspection, customers should change furnace filters according to the manufacturer's instructions to receive the best possible value for their heating dollars.
